DON’T PEEK! I’M CHANGING
Audrey Houghton is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus in acrylic painting. Recent graduate from Naropa University, Houghton approaches art at the perspective of psychological exploration. As multidisciplinary implies, they also participate in textile work, clothing fabrication, oil painting, tattooing, and aesthetic design.
The exhibit itself is based on the Palisades/Altadena fires.
“ Following the fires, I stopped painted for about eight months. After traveling, these were the first pieces to come into being. Their purpose is to illustrate unpredictable transformation and change in a period of life that is already so full of those motifs. Admittedly, it is difficult still to accept the impact the fires have had on my own day-to-day life. But isn’t that just the nature of change? We, as human beings, are constantly being asked to adapt to a world that waits for no one.
The works exhibited illustrate how I have cope with this.”
